The project with support from the Hilden Charitable Fund, aimed at improving menstrual health and hygiene management for adolescent girls at Rivirivi primary school in T/A Nsamala in Balaka district. The initiative expanded the school's sanitation facilities by constructing a modern sanitary block with four toilets and a private changing room to ensure safety and privacy. Additionally, the project distributed reusable menstrual pads and provided essential training in reproductive health to 103 girls. As a result, the girls gained confidence, adopted better hygiene practices, and experienced a significant reduction in school absenteeism during their periods.
